Yigo’s GWA Confirms One Well Has Elevated Dieldrin Levels
In the gaming world, we thrive on a solid connection—be it with our teammates or the digital realms we explore. But what happens when the real-world infrastructure we rely on falters? Enter the dieldrin situation in Yigo, where the Guam Waterworks Authority (GWA) has confirmed that only one well, Y-15, is stepping into the spotlight due to elevated levels of this nasty pesticide.
GWA’s general manager, Miguel Bordallo, has stepped up to clarify earlier reports that mistakenly indicated two wells were affected. He assured us that all other wells in the northern and central water systems are good to go, well below the Guam EPA’s interim action levels for dieldrin. That means the water flowing to most of us is still safe for drinking and gaming hydration.
The real kicker here is GWA’s proactive stance. They’re not just sitting on this information; they’re teaming up with the Yigo Mayor’s Office to make sure residents have access to drinking and cooking water. For us gamers, that means we can keep grinding without worrying about whether our water supply is clean. The GWA is also monitoring the entire water distribution system, so even while we’re leveling up, our hydration and health stay in check.
Stay in the loop by checking out GWA’s updates at guamwaterworks.org, where they’ll post any new information. If you’ve got questions or need assistance, remember there’s a hotline—710-888-4342—that’s open every day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for inquiries regarding water safety.
In an era where online connectivity is everything, the last thing we want is our real-world needs compromised. The crew at GWA is doing their part, keeping our water systems clean and ensuring none of us are left out in the cold (or dehydrated). So, let’s continue to engage in the digital realms while knowing our local resources are being looked after. Keep gaming and keep hydrated!
